Bus Adventure!
This weekend Gunna and I just wanted to get off the base and away from all the people (we've had a lot of extra visitors this week for a seminar). By the time we decided this, it was too late to plan a real trip, so we figured the best we could do was have a Bus Adventure! I hadn't taken the bus in Norway yet, so we thought it would be fun to just hop on and see where we ended up. Somehow, we always find our way to Kristiansand :-). It's kind of like when I was living in DC and Gloria and I would try to think of something new to do on the weekend, and somehow, we'd always end up in Dupont Circle or Adams Morgan. Anyway, we did a little shopping and enjoyed some coffee at a cafe owned by a woman from Seattle! On the way to town, we were sitting in the back of the bus and after about 15 minutes, a woman in the front turned around and said she was so happy to hear American English (Gunna is often mistaken for an American because her English is so good). We chatted with her for a bit, and then we ended up taking the bus back to Flekkeroy with her as well. She was so excited to talk to an American and speak English, and told us all about her trip to New Jersey 40 years ago. Before we parted, she invited us to come visit her for tea someday. So I think we will take her up on that. Here are some pictures from our adventure...
